US President Barack Obama has backed a superior prevalent, in the face reports that he exchanged "seductive" emails with Florida socialite Jill Kelley.
Spokesman Jay Carney said Mr Obama had "assurance" in Gen John Allen, chosen to be the next Nato commander in Europe.
